This blog is intended to illuminate the mechanisms, manifestations and consequences of what has become the Prime Directive of the American healthcare system, namely, to covertly ration our healthcare.

The companion website to this blog is The Grand Unification Theory of Healthcare. There you can find an entire exposition on the American healthcare system. You’ll learn how it works, why it works that way, and what you can do survive your interactions with it (whether you are a patient, a healthcare worker, or anybody else who - either because of your line of work or just poor fortune - must deal with the healthcare system).

The purpose of this associated blog is to shine additional light into the dark corners where covert rationing lurks. Because the key to it all - to understanding and surviving the American healthcare system - is to understand covert rationing: why we’re doing it, how we’re doing it, how it threatens our lives and our freedom as individuals, and how we each can prevent it from ruining our own lives and the lives of those we love.
